sarà forse il caldo che, come melassa, ricopre tutto e confonde i pensieri e le parole. sarà quell’umidità vischiosa che intorpidisce la testa, le gambe, le braccia e le dita. sarà quel boccheggiare a luci spente perché le zanzare non si accorgano che sei lì. sarà che è arrivata all’improvviso e uno si dimentica, dopo tanto tempo, che l’estate è bellissima ma ti lascia senza respiro. sarà che le finestre sono sempre aperte e si sentono le parole e le vite degli altri e, alla lunga, farsi i fatti dei vicini può essere logorante. sarà che è giugno e che è stato un anno faticoso. ma è poi stato un anno faticoso? forse non particolarmente ma a giugno sei parecchio credibile se dici “siamo alla fine di un anno massacrante” e poi a giugno essere provati è una cifra stilistica piuttosto diffusa. sarà che potrebbe essere la fine di un’epoca durata tantissimi anni e le fini mettono sempre addosso un certo affanno e non giovano all’incarnato e neppure ai capelli. sarà che mister i negli ultimi tempi è parecchio in giro, che eliza, la ragazza alla pari americana di cui elastigirl era perdutamente innamorata, è partita ormai da oltre un mese, che l’organizzazione del lavoro, degli orari, del campo estivo hobbit, degli spostamenti e della vita intera sembra complicatissima, ai limiti dell’impossibile. sarà che occorre assolutamente trovare una eliza o un elizo per settembre, che bisogna fare la dichiarazione dei redditi (perché è un momento così ansiogeno, perché? e non è il pagare che la turba ma è il raccogliere e ordinare le masserizie per farlo che la devasta), che certamente qualche pezzo te lo stai perdendo.
sarà per tutto questo, e forse anche per altro che al momento ha scordato, ché in questo periodo tende a scordare o rimuovere un sacco di cose, ma elastigirl è stravolta, sempre. talmente stravolta che si infilerebbe nel frigorifero e dormirebbe due settimane circa.
